  • Tap, tap, tap out - Chris Benoit did this to his son and when you disagree with something that someone else says on the board they may post that they are going to do this to you. Video
  • GolfFish - A favorite summertime pastime of many board users, most notably TTF (TrueTigerFan). Also occasionally used as a nonsensical response to a nonsensical post
  • Chris Beniot Tribute - The videos that tribute to Chris Benoit's life and death, mainly things that happened in his death.
  • Toe Joe Post - When someone posts nonsense that is impossible to follow also reference ( TJ Butter, TJ Spread, TJ, TOEJOE, TOE JOE, ToeJoe)
  • Marcus - Greatest caller that tells us everything about basketball. He is also know to say he didn't say something when we all heard it. Any time he calls you can bet that someone will be posting in the Marcus thread
  • Wiffleball - A thread that is used to relieve pan from the baseball team and the has massive minor league system.
  • Treehouse of Boredom - An idea thought up in the abortion/haiku thread that was originally was in the Motorsports Forum which was never used. This is where we would post random stuff. One day the forum was deleted so SpartyFan20 (Sparty's old name) recreated this thread to keep it alive. This thread got a lot more traffic than the old Motorsports forum ever got. Also it was the location of the Yummy Yum Yums hi-jacking club headquarters. It now has become a sub-forum on the current message board.
  • Spam War - Competing to have the last post in all threads at one time. Or what Boba Fett does while at the gym, most posters need a willing participant to engage in combat with them, but not Boba Fett
  • Pitching Machine - A better replacement then Willis, also could be the part of the tigers rotation for next year.
  • Century Post Club - After we hit the 1000 post mark Boba Fett posted about it. Sparty suggested calling it this as a joke. Due to Boba Fett being tired he changed the post name without thinking about what century stood for.
  • Beniot Hater, Nick - This is the guy that did the rant on Youtube about people like us who enjoy the Benoit videos. Boba Fett put a link to his rant and he traced the link back to us. Nick and BOHICA had a little back and forth battle until Benoit made Nick "tap, tap, tap out" (See above).
  • Before Moderators - Refers to the time that the board had no active moderators until Boba Fett was made one
  • The Wasteland - refers to are old message board, mywdfn.com (as referred to by CC Brass), also the forum where we all got our start as a posting community
  • The Clem - The dangerous place that Boba Fett raised his family. This was brought to light during the great battle of Boba Fett v. Randy (See Below)
  • Star Wars References - Used when referring to the greatest movie of all time Star Wars. Often used when referring to one of the many devices the Boba Fett has on his suit
  • Joe D - Some poster argued that he was the best GM in Detrioit by far. After the Pistons lost in the playoffs again and the Wings won the Cup these guys were no where to be found
  • Hug - This is what the posters do after they have a big fight
  • GILF - Refers to Sarah Palin, stands for "Grandma I'd Like to ****"
  • Georgia - A place that Boba Fett bitched about when driving back from Florida. After this all kinds of members posted the bad things that happened to them in that awful state.
  • Deathstorm - Can either be reference to a inch of snowfall in Metro Detroit or a hurricane.
  • 57 States - A video that was posted where Barack Obama says he been to all "57 states". Boba Fett find it funny, Stinger did not. At the end of the day Stinger and Boba Fett had a big hug (See Above) and put it behind them
  • Thinking on the Toliet - This is where some posters make some posts and think other great things.
  • The New Yorker - Refers to Mike Valenti, on the other sports station in detroit that is on the FM dail
  • Rich Weis - The new name for Rich Rod cause some Michigan fans treat him like ND fans treat Charlie Weis
    #50 Refers to #50 in the Patriotic Babes section at WDFN.com, and thanks to Stinger we all got to see it.
  • TTF v. Randy - This was the day that TTF pushed and pushed Randy until he lost it and started an inappropriate thread in every forum. Due to these action Boba Fett was made a moderator
  • Tales From Florida - Stories that LP will normally post about his state of Florida
  • No Excuses, Do It Now - something Boba Fett, the moderator, hears when the posters want something done
  • Moda Fett - Moniker for our beloved first real moderator, Boba Fett
  • Admina Fett - Moniker for the owner of the new board and the administrator, Boba Fett.End
  • Jimmy D - The real man behind the Detroit Red Wings success. Ken Holland is just a figure head that take all the credit for it but we all know it's Jimmy D
  • Iron Shiek - Crazy old wrestler that anytime he does something new and crazy on video LP will for sure post it.
  • HLBLism (Handsome Lusty Black Lad)- To creepily refer to someone as a lad or lass, also to find an extremely annoying way of posting that doesn't include spaces or punctuation. Thatiswhysometimesyouwillseepostslikethis.
  • First Tournament - It was the top poster that left, even thought he never really left at all, TTF. Bracket
  • Drunk Sun Tan Lotion Guy - Drunk guy that decided to talk to some of the message boarders at MEATA and wouldn't stop. Picture
  • Clete Thomas - The one true shining light for the city of Detroit, Stinger's not so secret man love.
  • Chicken Debate - The great debate on the old message board about who has the greatest chicken, KFC, Popeye's, etc.
  • Boba v. Randy - A Saturday that Boba was goated into a battle with Randy
  • Abortion - The home of the Farters Pride Party, and currently the haiku thread
  • MD fan - Michigan fans that blindly follow Rich Rod like Notre Dame fans follow Charlie Weis
  • The Master Plan - The things that Charlie Weis has planned out so Notre Dame will become a powerhouse again
  • Opossum - Animal that Sean is deathly afraid of and so there is a thread celbrating that
  • UofMS - University of Michigan State as referred to by Boba Fett during his radio segment while talking about Sparty and his institution of "higher" learning
  • Voldemort/He who shall not be named - the most notorious poster we've ever encountered, also the most vulgar randy
  • Cat Fight - A cat fight that took place in Sparty's apartment between his roommates girlfriend and other girls. Sparty said it went on for 45 minutes or so but took no pictures. His excuse was "He has no camera". We told him that "Every phone has one" and "Even if you didn't someone does"
Things From the Old WDFN Dictionary
  • ABK– Abbreviation for Anybody But Kitna. Coined by Matt Shepard when referring to the desire of Lions fans to have one of their younger quarterbacks starting instead of Jon Kitna.
  • AK4 – Abbreviation for Anything to Kill Four Hours, the unofficial mantra of It Is What It Is when the show was temporarily expanded to 4 hours a day.
  • Angel of the Big House– Nickname for WDFN Michigan Insider Angelique Chengelis.
  • Angry Fan March– A fan rally hosted by WDFN on December 18, 2005 outside Ford Field before a Lions game to display the dissatisfaction with the team’s G-M Matt Millen.
  • Angry Shep – The alter ego of Matt Shepard when he verbally attacks a listener orco-worker on the air. Don’t make him angry. You wouldn’t like him when he’s angry.
  • Bit – Refers to just about anything that is done on the air. Parodies, guests, impersonations, stories, drops, games, etc. are all considered bits.
  • B-Team – An alternate team you root for, especially if your local team (your A-Team) isn’t very good.
  • Bobnoxious – Moniker that Stoney uses forWojo when he goes out of his way to be annoying.
  • Bread Heads – Nickname for over-optimistic Lions fans coined by Sean Baligian because of their love of Cornbread.
  • Bubbles – Unofficial name of the decal on the side of the Lions helmet. Coined by Art Regner because he thinks it looks like the Lion is jumping in the air trying to catch bubbles.
  • Butter/ Buttery–Another euphemism for Cornbread coined by Matt Dery.
  • Camp Happy Times –Sean Baligian's nickname for the Lions training camp in 2005, when optimism was at its highest heading into Steve Mariucci's third season.
  • Chris Benoit drops – A series of drops used on It Is What It Is. They come from bizarre Internet video “tributes” to former professional wrestler Chris Benoit, who murdered his wife and son before taking his own life.
  • Christmas Tree – Wojo’s ever-present holiday decoration that he has left up in his living roomsince a Christmas season years ago.
  • Clones – Nickname for the faithful listeners of The Jim Rome Show. Rome coined the phrase because so many of his callers started using his phrases and began talking like him.
  • The Compound– Nickname for the Clear Channel building in Farmington Hills that houses five radio stations, including WDFN. The station moved there in 2003.
  • Cornbread –Indicates an unnatural belief that the Detroit Lions are better than they are, despite all the evidence to the contrary. Coined by Sean Baligian when he talked about the Lions ‘slaves’ eating the cornbread cooked up by ‘Massa William Clay Ford.’ Cornbread can also be used for irrational fans of other teams either in its current state or altered for other local teams like Hush Puppies (Pistons), Crazy Bread (Tigers and Red Wings) or Maizebread (University of Michigan).
  • Crack Baby – Nickname for Sean Baligian’s daughter Lauren, whose demeanor as a baby he compared to a crack addict going through withdrawals.
  • Crimson and Silver – Misrepresentation of Ohio State's school colors of Scarlet and Grey by Michigan fan Rob Otto to annoy Buckeye fans. It works.
  • Darrin Brege– WDFN voice guy. Doesdozens ofimpersonations for WDFN bits, including The Book, The Skipper, Archie Bunker, George Takai, Coach Marty, Beavis & Butthead, and many more.
  • DJ Kiilu – Drop from the song ‘Cornbread’ by the Freestyle Fellowship. Refers to DJ Kiilu Grand in the line “My DJ Kiilu he came and said Yo! I’ll scratch the break you rap the cornbread.” Drop used as an inside reference to Cornbread, and sometimes to refer to WDFN Lions Insider Tom Kowalski.
  • Double Butter Defense – Nickname for The Tampa-2 Defense employed by the Lions. Coined by Rob Otto as another Cornbread and Butter reference.
  • Drop – a sound byte used on the air over and over and over and over and over and over again.
  • The Elite – Indicates a fan of a sport that has a higher knowledge and appreciation than most fans. i.e., Baseball Elite
  • Evil Stoney – Stoney's alter ego who surfacedin the 90s. Has a penchant for yelling at callers and being a real dick.
  • Feller What Likes Other Fellers– Euphemism for a homosexual used by Sean Baligian’s character NASCAR Guy.
  • First Time, Long Time– Phrase used by a caller to indicate they are a long time listener, but are calling for the first time.
  • Five for Five – A former special at Arby’s where you could get 5 sandwiches for 5 dollars. Still loved and pined over by Sean Baligian.
  • Fred Flintstone Feet – Drop from the cartoon used to indicate Stoney’s propensity to back-pedal from an earlier stated opinion.
  • The Garage – Nickname for the original home of WDFN. It was a radio studio built inside an old garage at Jefferson Avenue and Woodbridge in downtown Detroit. Left behind in 2001 when the station moved to Southfield.
  • Gum Chomping Wojo/ GCW– Annoying alias of Wojo who chews gum when talking on air.
  • Greenhouse --Nickname for It Is What It Is producer Brad 'Spicoli' Fortier's house.
  • GROW and GROWN– Movement started in 1994 by Art Regner. They are acronyms for Get Rid of Wayne and Get Rid of Wayne Now, referring tothe desire of Lions fans to end the tenure of coach Wayne Fontes.
  • Guaranteed!– Exclamation by former WDFN anchor Ryan Field at the end of all his updates. Part of the tag line “Breaking sports news first guaranteed.”
  • Happy New Year!– In 2004 Wojo yelled this every day of the year on the air, while trying to figure out how long after January 1 you were still allowed to use the phrase. He decided it was OK until December 31 that year. Some callers still greet Wojo this way.
  • I Hugged My Dog – A statement made by caller Paul about how excited he was by watching the Lions run the ball well in a game versus the Dallas Cowboys in 2007.
  • I Love You Robby – Phrase used as a goodbye by some callers to update anchor Rob Otto. Originated after Otto’s sister called in and said it at the end of her call.
  • Iron Sheik drops – Infatuation on It Is What It Is for bizarre phrases from the former professional wrestler.
  • Jasmine and Miranda– What Wojo thinks are the names of Stoney’s twin daughters. Their actual names are Jessica and Marissa.
  • Joey Blue Skies– Nickname for former Lions quarterback Joey Harrington coined by Sean Baligian because Joey always looked on the bright side.It's a referenceto the ELO song “Mr. Blue Sky.”
  • J-Stew -- Nickname for Jason Stewart, the talent coordinator and phone screener of The Jim Rome Show.
  • The Jungle – Nickname for The Jim Rome Show weekdays from Noon to 3 PM.
  • Jungle Karma– Supposed boost in performance a team or player will get after an appearance on The Jim Rome Show.
  • Killer– Nickname for WDFN Lions Insider Tom Kowalski. Borrowed from former professional wrestler Walter “Killer” Kowalski.
  • Lame Game –Nickname for any game played on the Stoney & Wojo Show.
  • Lionized – Thepoint atwhich any new Lion's player or coach gets infected by the franchise's losing ways and starts adding to the ineptitude. It is often accompanied by a mental or physical breakdown either on or off the field.
  • Lion Poetry – Occasional segment on It Is What It Is started in 2003 by Sean Baligian and then-producer Marti Martin where Lions fans use the art of poetry to let out their frustration and angst with the team. Off shoot of NASCAR Guy's 'NASCAR A-Poetry.' Any form of poem is allowed, but haiku and its 5-7-5 syllable format has become the most popular.
  • The Lion's Super Bowl – Nickname for the NFL Draft. Since the Lions have never made it to the actual Super Bowl, this event is the thing fans have to look forward to with the same voracity.
  • LOC – Acronym for Lady on Cell Phone. Sean Baligian believes they are the most dangerous drivers on the road.
  • The Lovely and Talented One – Nickname for Stoney’s wife Cyndi.
  • MAM – Acronym for Monday Afternoon Moron, a weekly segment on the Stoney & Wojo Show where callers get to name the person who made the biggest idiot of themselves in the previous week. Wojo believes Stoney should win every week.
  • Mail-In Day – Annual tradition on It Is What It Is when Sean does little to no show prep, also know as “mailing it in.” All day he simply gets the callers to ask for their favorite drops and bits. Happens every year on the day before Sean’s Christmas holiday vacation.
  • MEATA – Acronym for Mankind Eating All the Animals. Annual summer cookout hosted by Sean Baligian since 2003 as an answer to some overboard antics by PETA, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.
  • Mean Streets – Tongue in cheek nickname for Livonia.
  • The Meltdown Theme – Piece of audio from the TV show ‘The Incredible Hulk’ when David Banner was changing into the Hulk. Originally used to indicate what happens to Tiger pitcher Fernando Rodney during a poor pitching performance, has transcended to other meltdowns as well.
  • The Mick – Sean Baligian’s impersonation of Red Wings broadcaster Mickey Redmond.
  • Moving In Stereo– Drop taken from the Cars song which was made famous in the 1982 movie ‘Fast Times at Ridgemont High’ when Judge Reinhold was pleasuring himself while watching Phoebe Cates in her bikini. Used to indicate a desire by someone to do the same thing while thinking about a team or player. Originated with former WDFN producer Matt Spryzak’s over the top love for Mike Hart and U of M football.
  • NASCAR Guy – Sean Baligian’s character when he talks about rednecks, southerners, and stupid people in general.
  • No F'n Way! – An exclamation used sarcastically in response to a blatantly obvious statement.
  • No-Show– Nickname for Wojo when he is absent from the Stoney & Wojo Show.
  • No Rules Friday– Any Friday when Stoney is absent from the Stoney & Wojo Show and Wojo throws all the standard show rules out the door.
  • Ohhhh . . . I'll Never Forget – Sean Baligian’s phrase when someone makes a mistake about a player’s career or a particular game. He follows it by making fun of the mistake by misstating facts to make it sound like it actually happened.
  • Old Bit Siren – A siren used on the air to indicatea statement, segment, caller, etc.that has become overused. Can be shortened to just ‘The Siren.’ Started by former producer Tom ‘The Governor’ Millikan. The first official Old Bit was Caller Linda, and it spread from there.
  • Ole, Ole, Ole, Ole – Popular rallying song for Sean Baligian’s favorite team, the Montreal Canadians.
  • The One Constant – Refers to Lions owner William Clay Ford, the only constant in the Lions organization during the team’s losing ways over the decades.
  • The Ovens– Nickname for both the Lions Allen Park facility and Ford Field, where the team is warming up The Ovens to bake their Cornbread.
  • Parting Gift – Sean Baligian’s “present” of dial tone after hanging up when someone gets a question wrong in a contest, or when someone mentions professional wrestling.
  • PASCAR– A nickname for Rob Pascoe’s weekly NASCAR show On The Track. Pascoe + NASCAR = PASCAR.
  • Pavel Datsyuk's Not Good– A Sean Baligian drop taken out of context to make it sound like he doesn’t like the Red Wings forward. What he really said was “I’m not saying Pavel Datsyuk’s not good.”
  • Power 1130– What Sean Baligian calls WDFN when he does his “FM DJ voice” while introducing songs.
  • Prick Three – Occasional version of Sean Baligian’s weekly game Pick Three in which he makes the questions so difficult that no one can get them right. There has never been a winner of Prick Three.
  • Radiothon– Stoney & Wojo’s annual fund-raiser for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Their show stays on the air from Thursday afternoon at 3 PM to 7 PM the following Friday – a total of 28 hours. Over the years they have raised well over $1 million for the cause.
  • The Sandwich Song– Officially titled ‘Sandwiches’ by The Detroit Grand Pubahs. A song used during the Stoney & Wojo old bi-weekly segment ‘What’s Your Beef?’ The song sends Wojo into a state of euphoria.
  • Season of the Witch – Piece of music taken from the Donovan song. Used upon the mention of Montreal Canadians goalie Carey Price, whom Sean Baligian claims must be a witch for what he does on the ice.
  • Shut It Down – Drop used to try and end a bad segment, call or bit. Taken from the 1998 movie ‘Dark City.’
  • Shut Up/ No You Shut Up– Drop of an argument between former WDFN morning show hosts Jamie Samuelsen and Greg Brady.
  • Skirts On Sports – A segment on It Is What It Is with producer Brad Fortier asking random women sports questions and reveling in their bad answers.
  • Slacker Friday – Any Friday leading into a holiday weekend when the entire office staff at the Clear Channel Compound gets to go home early.
  • Slappy– Used either to describe an overtly optimistic fan of a particular team (i.e. Spartan Slappy), or to indicate a person who makes a spectacle of themselves either accidentally or on purpose.
  • Smack – Nickname for sports takes and insults on The Jim Rome Show.
  • The Smackoff – Annual competition on The Jim Rome Show where the best callers are invited in on one day to present their best Smack.
  • The Snack-A-Vator– Nickname for the elevator at the Southfield building where WDFN was located from 2001-2003. Got the moniker because so many people used it to go get snacks from the lobby store that you had to wait forever to get the elevator.
  • Spicoli– Nickname that WDFN producer Brad Fortier got as an intern. Refers to Jeff Spicoli, a character from the 1982 movie ‘Fast Times at Ridgemont High’ who was a big fan of marijuana. Not sure why Brad got this nickname.
  • Stanley– Nickname for Stoney. Originatedduring an interview withboxing expert Bert Sugar, who mistakenly referred to Stoney as Stanley.
  • Stanthrax –An imaginary disease named after a combination of Stoney’s nickname Stanley and anthrax. Indicates either a physical or mental mistake made by Stoney, or when Stoney pulls a bizarre and inane piece of sports trivia out of thin air.
  • Star Trek Fight Music – Taken from an episode of ‘Star Trek’ where Kirk and Spock had to fight each other. Used to indicate someone getting upset and ready to fight.
  • Stoney Abbreviations– A series of abbreviations used by Wojo to describe Stoney’s current mood. i.e., SSS = Suddenly Snotty Stoney, FDS = Fuddy Duddy Stoney.
  • Stoney’s Cell Phone– Infamous incident in 2006 when Stoney gave out his cell phone number instead of the station call-in number. His voice mailbox was full in minutes, and he had to change his number. Believed to be caused by a sudden bout of Stanthrax.
  • Tell Wojo I said hello when you see him– Drop from Dick Vitale when interviewed by Stoney on a day when Wojo was not in studio. Variations are used by callers and sports personalities alike when Wojo is absent.
  • Thunder Stealing – Phrase used by a caller to indicate that the host or a previous caller made the same point that they were about to make.
  • Tournaments– A semi-regular event on the Stoney & Wojo Show when they come up with 64 items in a category and let the listeners decide which is best. It's done in a head-to-head NCAA Basketball Tournament style bracket.
  • Tsk Tsk Tsk, Asterisk– Phrase used by Wojo to indicate an accomplishment achieved under questionable circumstances, and should therefore be listed with an asterisk.
  • Vine – Phrase used by callers on The Jim Rome Show. Since the show isnicknamed The Jungle callers will thank Jim for taking their call by saying "Thanks for the vine"because letting them on the air is like handing them a jungle vine to swing on.
  • War – Phrase used on The Jim Rome Show. Taken from Auburn's battle cry 'War Eagle,' clones say theword 'War' followed by their favorite team, player, or other activity, to show their fondness of it.
  • Weather!– An exclamation often used by Wojo when weather conditions are mentioned.
  • What are you doing here?– Infamous first on-air question Matt Dery asked catcher Ivan Rodriguez when he signed with the Tigers the year following their 119 loss season.
  • Whom? – Drop taken from a Capital Mortgage Funding commercial. Used when someone no one knows is mentioned.
  • Wojodamus– Alter ego of Wojo when he uses his divine powers to predict sporting events. Combination of Wojo and famed prognosticator Nostradamus.
  • Wojo Walk-By– Oft-occurring event when Wojo makes a conscious effort to walk behind a TV host when they’re doing a live report from a sporting event.
  • World Champion Detroit Penis– Misspoken phrase by WDFN update anchor Rob Otto instead of the tag line ‘World Champion Detroit Pistons.’
  • The XR4Ti Crew– Nickname for Jim Rome's radio support staff. Named after the make of the first car he owned, a Merkur XR4Ti.
  • You know what?– Condescending question Sean Baligian asks when imitating how his father used to talk to him.
  • You'rea Liar/ You'rea Liar– Drop from an argument on WDFN’s hockey show Ice Time between Greg Brady and Sean Baligian
